I know there are a couple out there like the Beretta Neos but I didn't think .22lr worked very well as striker fired because of the QC issues with the mass produced ammo. Most have internal hammers. Maybe Ruger is just making the hammer internal?
We shall see... If Ruger does come out with one, I am sure they will have the kinks worked out so it is reliable. So far I have not seen anything new on the rumor. I'd probably wait awhile to see what reviewers think. Heck, there is enough 22LR ammo that is problematic. I have a couple 22LR pistols, a S&W22A and a Ruger MkIII, both are really good shooters, and both seem ammo tolerant. But I have a friend that has a Buckmark, and it hates the Winchester White Box stuff... Maybe I just need to add a SR22 to my want list...

I think the beating is more gun dependent. IMHO the 45 colt has way less kick that a .44 magnum.

I have to agree as well. A .45 Colt doesn't have anywhere near the recoil of a .44 magnum.

Ruger is releasing the Super Blackhawks in .480 Ruger and .454 Casull if anyone wants to try something with more kick.

I still think the only revolver I want is a Ruger SP100 4" barrel in .357 mag. I figure that if 6 rounds of .357 mag won't stop it, I can, at that point, probably out run it.

That hurts just thinking about it. If I needed that power I would get the Super Redhawk with the Hogue grips. Power is no good if you can't control it.
