The tradition of Baretta guns began in 1526 when the Republic of Venice bought one of the first of its kind from the father of the centuries-long firearm dynasty, Mastro Bartolomeo Beretta.
The tradition carried on from Bartolomeo his son, Giovannino, and on to his grandson Giovan Antonio. Generations later, Giuseppe began distributing the company’s products internationally. But it wasn’t until the early 1900s when Giuseppe and Carlo expanded production from Italy into several European countries and the U.S. that the company was able to secure successful business partnerships with the military, law enforcement and the private sector.
