What do you prefer, polymer guns for metal?

RE: Plastic guns. - XdEric - 03-15-2015

Personally, really doesnt matter to me. They both have their places but polymer guns seem to hold up more over the ages but again technology is always evolving.

I have both. No real preference. As long as it goes bang when the trigger's pulled.

There's a SR1911 the grips look better on stainless than polymer I think . Then there's a half and half I really wish it was all blue even so I could have powder coated it all but the bronze is real nice . Solid polished 4.5 inch mark lll hunter target stainless 850 made and it's a Talo discontinued with coco bolo . A coat clear coat glock again a half and half it would have been sweet ti do bottom in purple. And hunter again

thanks Jason!

Looks like that glock could use a touch on on the paint wink wink Big Grin

I prefer plastic Glock's with lead bullet's.

Really I have a little experience with both steel and polymer. I like polymer because of the weight saving's.
Most of my steel handguns are revolvers that have been worked on and are smooth as silk.

RE: Plastic guns. - bradberry - 03-23-2015

I LIKE THEM ALL! Just keep the cheap crap out of my safe...

RE: Plastic guns. - rwhite135 - 03-27-2015

It depends on the individual firearm. I've held steel weapons that I didn't find comfortable to shoot and the same with polymer ones. If it feels good and is well made I'll use either.

RE: Plastic guns. - mikereddot - 03-27-2015

I'm surprised on how close it it between the two.

That's pretty much how I feel. As long as they perform the function they were purchased for, metal or polymer isn't much of a concern to me.

I'm an equal opportunity gun owner! Smile

Haha agree! I haven't owned a metal pistol yet.. Nothing against them, I just really wanted the XDm and the XDs.. Metal is next on the list!

RE: Plastic guns. - Dutz - 05-14-2015

I have shot a wide variety of hand guns as I have been learning, buying, and renting - probably over 30 in the last two years.

The 3 guns that have stood out far and away as the best feeling when the gun fires are the three metal ones - Beretta 92, Springfield 1911 TRP (which I own), and the Ruger Super Redhawk (which I want to own).

It is simply not even close. I own two poly guns for the reasons you would think, the same ones Ringo has (smart man) the XDm and XDs, but if all I did was walk up to shoot and you handed me a gun, give me metal.

Well said, this is basically my opinion as well
