Best or Worst Manufacturer Repair - XdEric - 04-09-2015

I have dealt with a lot of different manufacturer over the years here are just a few.

Sig Sauer- AMAZING! best service I have had. They are on the ball and very good at communication. Sent them a gun without a case (customer didnt have it) for a small issue that was out of my hands. They sent it back promptly with a new case and manual and cleaning stuff. I have always figured that Sigs are a bit more expect but you are getting support.

Bond Arms- Had a customer gun I was working on. all the internal parts were rusted very badly. I called time and ordered the parts. They ended up sending everything for free and even paid for the shipping.

Savage Arms- One of my moron friends broke the barrel lug on my shotgun. Called them and they give me the shipping label. Shipped it out and a few weeks later got the gun back. They had put the new mag tube from the newest version and it give me an extra 2 shells. Did not ask or it nor was I complain.

I really havent had any horrible or bad service with any company. Some are just a pain to deal with...Eg. Taurus

I tell people all the time. If gun companies made our cars, we'd all be driving 25 year old cars.

With Hoppes #9 engine cleaner and Birchwood Casey car wax we can push it to 30 years.. ?

I use #9 as an air freshener. Love that stink.

Karl, do you build plastic models with glue too? Glee

Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue...

Extra points for the first one that gets it...

I'll pass on the 5 points....

I've only had to deal with a few gun manufacturers for service.
I recently had been shooting emails to Glock and getting a reply within 24 hours. So far I'd rate the an A+ but I've only communicated with them. I'll make a note to follow up on Glock once I send my gun to them and get it back to the range. The only con I have is the same with all gun manufacturers, which are shipping costs. Send it FedEx 2nd Day Air and insure it. Glock also wants me to send ALL my magazines I use with the gun....more insurance. I have a bunch of magazines to insure at $30 value each.

I never had a problem with S&W, although I've only had to talk to them on the phone to get a few parts and info.

I don't care for Winchester service because they wouldn't give me answer any questions on the phone without my sending in my shotgun.

I've never personally had the need to deal with Browning service, but I know people who have and they tell me their service is great. That's word of mouth and I hope I never have a problem with ny Browning firearms.

I don't know how others feel about Remington but if I posted how I feel about their service on more than one occasion in my words, I'd be banned from the RDA forum.

I gave up on Remington service and brought a shotgun into RDA. The gun hadn't been operating correctly or being used for about 20 years. I still have to pick it up at RDA, but I'm told it's fixed and have no doubts that it is.

Personally I find its so much more convienent and extremely price competitive to drop a gun off for service at RDA. If I had to ship a gun to the manufacturer, I'd have to pack it, ship it next day or 2nd day air and insure it. I'm sure the cost of my shotgun repair is at least 30% less than shipping alone would have been.

I'm sure I'll use RDA's gunsmith service for most of my needs in the future.

One day soon id love to have the option of dealing with sig. Not that i want the probkem but they have a lot of nice guns i havnt put the money up for yet.

RE: Best or Worst Manufacturer Repair - mikereddot - 04-14-2015

They do make nice pieces. I'd like to have a 229, but can't justify it right now.

RE: Best or Worst Manufacturer Repair - XdEric - 04-14-2015

I would like the Sig 229 as well and the 938. Actually just shot one today at Red Dot Big Grin

RE: Best or Worst Manufacturer Repair - mikereddot - 04-14-2015

The 238 is nice also.

RE: Best or Worst Manufacturer Repair - Karl B - 04-15-2015

The P239 doesn't suck either. Just sayin'. Smile

I had a pretty good Bersa warranty repair lately. No issues.
