Are people living in Chicago able to apply and obtain a CCW?

I know that the laws in Illinois are strict but I don't know if Chicago has its own stipulations or restrictions of that matter.

They are able to, but last I heard there is a special endorsement for Chicago residents that costs extra to apply for. Also- Cook county has a special task force assigned to object to as many applications as humanly possible.

That's ridiculous... so let the gang bangers be free to terrorize the streets but prevent honest working citizens to protect themselves from that crowd.. or make them pay extra to do so to the few they accept. Gotta love Chicago politics *rolls eyes*... if you come across any articles or if I do so, please post them here, I am curious to see how it pans out. Thanks for the info RJDSRT!!
