I'm not a Bloomberg reader, but LinkedIn had this article posted via NRA membership on LinkedIn....interesting. I'm a wannabe environmentalist; not quite a tree hugger (or lion hugger(yikes!), but hate seeing hunting just for the sport of it. Key mention this article helped lift my spirits a bit:
Meyeridricks admits killing to conserve is a “difficult argument to make” when people focus on the welfare of an individual animal. The “greater good” is achieved by using hunting revenue to protect and grow wildlife numbers, he said.
Sort of like what our Wisconsin does to cull the over abundance of deer.

It's not a very hard argument to make just look at ducks unlimited. If people want to hunt they not only need the animal but the habitat that it comes from and lives in. And if we don't protect that then the animals are gone. Also look into duck stamps, it's amazing the amount of money hunters have raised for protecting the environment. Seriously though check our ducks unlimited, or one of the fellow groups pheseants unlimited elk unlimited etc.

One need only go into the city and see all the deer in the forest preserves. There is model airplane field at Cumberland and Irving Park roads. There must be at least a herd of 40 deer in that small preserve. If I can count 18, I am guessing there are at least double that. At some point they become a huge problem, being hit by cars, or just spreading out into the urban environment. Herds of wild life must be managed, because we have eliminated all their natural predators. At some point, you see dead ones as they have exhausted the food supply of a small plot of land.
Hunting provides this culling process.

Large herds to become a problem. They cause confusion, spread disease, and consume needed resources that could go to more important uses....
of course I am talking about democrats.

Will somebody please make an exception. Liberals are already easy targets...we just have to find the gun free zones thanks to the DEMS!
