State Line Rifle Association - we need new, younger members with the same goals to continue this organization.

We put on two Brownells' Day NRA Family Fun Shoots (this is the flyer for the shoots in 2015) every year. Each shoot has over 100 participants, mostly kids, who want to learn more about firearms and shooting. You must be RSO certified to work on the firing line but there are other ways to help out as well. I worked the one in September and had a great time.

Active since 1994, it is our belief that the Second Amendment was written to be applied for the individual citizenry of the United States of America. That it is the government's responsibility to protect the nation and the general populace at large. That it is the government's responsibility to protect those individuals who will or can not protect themselves. It is the individuals responsibility to to protect themselves from an over powerful government as well as those who might bring them individual harm. That the responsibility to protect from imminent danger to one's self, home, and property is an inherent basic human right.

Our Function is to monitor national, state, and local legislation that impact firearm related and Second Amendment issues. To disseminate that information to our members. To actively solicit support for the individual's rights to legally keep and bear arms. To actively oppose any legislation, administrative, regulatory, or executive action that may hinder practice of patriotism, good citizenship, and good sportsmanship.

We are affiliated with the following organizations: NRA, ISRA, IFOR, CMP

Membership is $24 for new members and $22 for renewels.

SLRA has monthly members meetings. We hold these meeting at American Legion Post in Round Lake IL. on Rt 134 on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 7PM.

I did one of these a few years ago. It was a lot of fun. I encourage folks to try it.

This month's meeting is at 7PM, Feb. 23rd at the American Legion Post in Round Lake IL. on Rt 134. The speaker is Joseph Lajoy of LaJoy Precision in Fox Lake.

At the last meeting the SLRA voted to subsidize the cost of training for members who was to get their NRA instructor credentials in Pistol, Rifle, and Shotgun. They would pay 50%. You need to be a member and work their two Brownells'-NRA Day Events in May and September.

The State Line Rifle Association is looking for new members to join us.

We are a group of concerned citizens who believe in the rights guaranteed to individuals under the Second Amendment of the US Constitution. We believe that as responsible citizens that we should not be unduly burdened by laws that serve no purpose other than to restrict citizens’ rights. We believe as responsible citizens it is our duty to protect ourselves, our family, our home, and our property. We believe what makes us responsible citizens is being prepared through proper training and practice and educating others in the same. We also believe that as responsible citizens that we should be able to hunt and participate in the shooting sports and we encourage others to be involved too.

Our mission is to actively solicit support for the individual’s rights to legally keep and bear arms. We monitor national, state, and local legislation that impacts Second Amendment issues and disseminates that information to our members. We actively oppose any legislation, administrative, regulatory, or executive action that may hinder the practice of patriotism, good citizenship, and good sportsmanship.

SLRA is a grassroots, non-partisan, equal opportunity organization. Everyone is invited to join regardless of race, gender, political affiliation, or religion. We meet once a month and hold several fun shoots during the year. We are affiliated with the National Rifle Association, Illinois State Rifle Association, Gun Save Lives, Civilian Marksmanship Program, and Illinois Federation for Outdoor Resources.

Annual memberships are $24 and membership forms are available here. The membership form and payment can be sent to:

State Line Rifle Association
PO Box 7837
Gurnee, IL 60031
