just wanted to let you know that that I have had a lot of problems since Thanksgivings. Been through several rounds of coughing and congestion. Steroids and antibiotics did not help. In January, I began to have trouble breathing. I just stayed out of breath all the time and the coughing had not improved.

Last Friday week (1/29/16), Mollie took me to the ER and they admitted me. The doctors said I was retaining fluids. They gave me 80mg of lasic by IV every 4 hours with no IV running. I gained 2 lbs. Finally on Monday they ran an echo. The cardiologists said that visually the EJ looks to be 50%. They did a CT and said that I had a hole the size of an apple in my lunged and then discharged me Monday night.

I went to B;ham this past Monday and saw a cardiologists that never listened to my heart or lungs, never checked the pulse in my neck or legs. She just ordered a stress test. Today I got the results of that test and it was positive for blockages. I will undergo an ateriogram on Friday, 19-Feb. It takes that long to get insurance approval and for me to come off of my blood thinners. This time I will be seeing my cardiologist whom is a great physician and have been treating me for 20 years.

I just have not had the desire to get on here and read or interact with this great group

YOU JUST TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF... and don't worry about explaining why you haven't been on here.

Thanks for letting us know and I will be praying for you. He's been looking out for you already, even though it may not feel like it... your wife sent you to the doctor and you found out before something much worse happened.

The arteriogram this past Friday proved negative for any blockages. No blockages = great news, but now we still do not know what is causing the SOB. The cardiologist wanted to do another echo-cardiogram. zWe know that I have some leakage in the mitral vale. However, the echo was better than the doctor expected. I am on bed-rest for two weeks and then we will repeat the echo. If there is no change than we begin to look at the lungs.
