Being in so-called higher education, I wish it were true that administrators and faculty are just standing by and watching leftist ideology take over. From my experience, it is the administration and faculty who champion the lefts hate. Conservative views are despised by most academic elites.

Teachers today depend upon the state for their paychecks. Of course they will support socialism if it is paying their bills. The same will be true with healthcare workers if they every move to socialist single payer. The left understands that government control means they can control. Fear not Venezuela always eventually happens. Regardless of how much the confiscate to support their parasitic supporters the system will collapse. We need to resist allowing anything to be run by government.

Last year there was a move afoot at my university to rename Columbus Day to indigenous peoples day. Out of the entire faculty I was the only one who spoke against such nonsense. Imagine my surprise when I was told in all seriousness that many Mexicans still feel resentment towards Columbus for what he did. Well maybe my history is a bit off, but I thought that happened 600 years ago, not last week. I guess I too can get upset with the Italians since they invaded Britain, and that was only 2,000 years ago. Methinks reparations are due.
