I was looking at setting up my reloader today. The formula I am looking at called for 19.5 graines. When I looked at the bushings it didn't have anything grain wise. They had their own numbers is there a conversion from lee to graines?

Yes there is. What you see on those numbers is the volume of the bushing in CC. If you go to the leeprecision.com site , under the "Instructions" tab, you will see a VMD document. This document gives you factors for each powder that when multiplied by the weight in Grains of the desired charge will give you the volume in CC you need. I attached it to this post. Find the bushing closest to that volume and start there. I never use the published bushing without weighing the actual charge. Frequently the data is off one or two bushings due to a number of factors not limited to: Atmospheric Pressure, Powder Lot to Lot Variances, use or non-use of a baffle in the powder system etc.

Ah ok so 700x at 19.5 graines would be .1343 x 19.5 = 2.61? Just a heads up with all of your help I either owe you some beer or the 357 and 38 brass I haveSmile

Yep that sounds like the ticket. Are we talking Lee Load All II press? Or is this for some sort of Metallic reloading with a Lee Auto Disk or Pro Auto Disk powder measure?

It was for the load all press. I dud the first load tonight. At first it was measuring a little light. But when I measured from the shell directly it was a little closer to the target. I was running lighter the first time at 17 graines instead of 18.5. I am going to shoot it this morning hopefully it all turns out

OK well that is pretty normal. Those bushing charts are always plus or minus a hole so to speak, so you always want to determine the right bushing before putting shot in so you can just turn the press upside down and dump the powder to change it. If there is shot in the press, then you have to dip the shot out and fool around with it in order to pull the charge bar and change the bushing. I wish they made that press in .410. I hate to buy a Mec 600 to load them but its about the only economical way to do it...

Yea I started looking at the loading data on the imr site and it gave 3 loads for the components I had. I figured if I stated in the middle I would 've within the tolrrences either way. I had to change the bushing once after it was all set up, and it was a pain. I am.surprised they don't gave one since I see they gave it even in 16

This is THE item to be fixed on the Load All II that would make it so competitive with the MEC 600 Jr Mark IV. If there were a way to completely drain the shot and powder without having to dip, scoop, or turn it upside down, this press would be great. As it is, what folks do is buy one for every load they have, Target, hunting, and Slugs, and never touch the powder bushing once they are set. By the way the THUG Slugs Ballistic Products is selling are really cool to shoot and when you reload them are very affordable.

I am probably going to do that was well. Buy one for skeet one for trap. Fir 12 and 16. Nice thanks for the heads up, I want to do more with slugs. Since I don't really shoot my 870 for clays it may becomes a deer gun.
